CLIFFORD P. RYAN, CLU, CHFC | PRESIDENT
With over 30 years’ experience in the financial services profession, Cliff started his career in 1983 and began his concentration in Elder Planning in 1990. Since that time he has successfully guided scores of clients transitioning into and through their retirement years. Cliff holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designations conferred by the American College of Financial Services. He is a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals and the Million Dollar Round Table.
In addition to his professional duties, Cliff has served on many local and national boards and committees involving seniors’ and retirees’ issues including the Southern Maine Agency on Aging, Legal Services for the Elderly, and the Governor’s Task Force on Long-Term Care Financing. He has written numerous articles, presented educational sessions to a variety of public and professional audiences and has appeared as a guest on local radio and television programs.
Cliff enjoys outdoor sports such as biking, running, hiking, and the occasional sprint-triathlon. He is a private pilot and pursues his love of flying as often as time allows. In a parallel life, Cliff spent over 25 years in the Navy and Naval Reserves where he served in a variety of duties including as a photographer and salvage diver until he retired in 2003. Cliff lives with his wife, Laurene, in Cape Elizabeth and St. Petersburg, Florida.

DEBRA J. HARNEY | CLIENT SERVICE
Debbie is responsible for Client Service, providing assistance with the planning process as well as account implementation and maintenance. She joined Elder Planning Advisors in 1996 and has held a variety of positions over the years. Prior to joining the firm, she held several positions with UNUM over her eight-year tenure. Deb is a Maine Notary Public. Her knowledge, experience, and commitment to our clients are appreciated by all.
Deb participates in many volunteer activities including the Girl Scouts, Safe Families, the Alzheimer’s Association, and currently serves as President of the Rebekah Assembly of Maine. Deb is active in her church and has been on two missions to Guatemala to help build homes. She enjoys cooking, reading a good mystery and spending time with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. Deb is a life-long resident of Cape Elizabeth where she lives with her husband, Owen.
LAURENE M. RYAN | OPERATIONS
Laurene manages the firm’s operational areas of accounting, information technology, and assists with regulatory compliance. She is most notably responsible for our web site, email newsletter and bulletins. Prior to joining the firm in 2015, Laurene had served in a variety of technical support, office management, accounting and marketing capacities over the years making her well suited to the task.
Laurene enjoys hiking, biking and the outdoors. An interest in discovering her “backyard” led Laurene to become associated with the Scarborough Land Trust for many years where she was instrumental in the success of a number of conservation efforts. Although equally content to relax with a good book, she participates in running events and the occasional sprint-triathlon. Laurene and Cliff also enjoy traveling and spending time with family including their two young-adult children.
